My Dog Cat Ate My Homework Doctor's Note.
Yep. That's right. My cat has struck again. As I've mentioned before, I had gall bladder surgery a few months ago. Having a major organ ripped out through your belly button doesn't really leave your body in the best condition to go to Zumba or Cycling. In order to get my money back for my gym membership, I had my Doctor write a note explaining my situation. All I had to do was fax the letter to the Scary Gym Lady (see below):
and hope that, having already ruined enough lives that day, she would spare a little mercy and honor my request.
But once again my laziness prevailed and the Doctor's note sat under a pink magnet on my fridge for approximately a month and a half. It wasn't until I needed to use that pink magnet to hold something way more important (tickets to two Avett Brothers concerts in September) that I decided I should do something about the note. I'll take it to work with me in the morning and fax it from there, I thought. Apparently, the note caught my cat, Roux's, attention at the same time. (I'm not going to lie, there are times when I think Roux can read my mind...she really freaks me out...) Except Roux didn't wait until the morning to take action. She decided to do something about it in the middle of the night.
Aftermath:
Thanks, Roux.

This is hilarious in a "I hope you get your gym membership back but your cat cracks me up kinda way."
There was this kid that I taught for the last two years, and he would come in everyday with a new story about how his dog ate like soda cans, drawers and razors. So when he came in one day telling me his dog ate everything on his desk including his homework, I totally bought it.
my goodness. what else does your cat chew on? :) maybe she's too hungry? I do hope the scary gym lady shows some sympathy towards you.
Following your blog!
I almost peed myself reading your blog! I was quite entertained!
My cat most be your cat's polar opposite. Roux must *really* want you to go to the gym.
Isabel puked on my newly washed gym clothes still in the laundry basket the other night, thus preventing me from working out for at least another few days. I've trained her well.
You and your cat are characters... glad I hopped from FTLOB.
Hilarious! And I can so relate. I have three cats, and I swear they are constantly eating and trying to eat important paperwork, books, etc. Good luck with scary gym lady...the illustration of her left me with chills, so I think you're going to need it!
Stopping by and following from FTLOB. Can't resist a funny blogger AND her cat :)
HA HA! It must have been mighty tasty that date. Too too funny. I hope you can get another note. My cat used to play with wadded up balls of paper. She really loved that!
Cats are way too smart for their own good. She probably did that on purpose, because she wants you to be at the gym so she can have the house to herself. GENIUS.
